The Advisor can:
Support you in the academic appeals process if you suspect you have been graded unfairly;
Clarify relevant policies and procedures of Confederation College;
Listen to and look into concerns around diversity, equity, and inclusion;
Help you build skills to deal more effectively and directly with your concerns;
Offer referral to resources both on and off campus; and
Give insight into strategies for conflict resolution.
That said, the Advisor cannot:
Decide who is right or wrong in situations of conflict, nor take sides;
Provide legal advice or psychological counselling;
Overrule or change a decision; or
Determine or change policy.
